working visit sports park Glanerbrook and Burgemeester Damenpark Sittard-Geleen

On Wednesday afternoon 16 April, Regio Deal Zuid-Limburg is once again organising a working visit for administrators, officials and multi-helix partners. This time to sports park Glanerbrook & Burgemeester Damenpark in Sittard-Geleen. There are still a few places left for partners.

The renovation of Glanerbrook sports park in Geleen is in full swing. The ice hall and the 50-metre pool are currently being finalised. In early May, athletes will be able to enter a brand new, modern complex. This project is more than just a renovation: it is an investment in the future of sport and exercise in our region. Besides the new swimming pool and ice rink, Glanerbrook will have improved sports halls and extensive outdoor facilities.

Glanerbrook will also soon generate its own solar energy via over 6,000 solar panels on the complex's roofs. Thanks to an innovative battery, this energy will be efficiently stored and cleverly deployed for its own use and for charging visitors' cars. The adjacent Burgemeester Damenpark will also be redesigned. The park will be biodiverse and include sports and fitness equipment and a 1 km track for various sports.

The goal? A sports complex that not only attracts top athletes, but also provides space for recreational athletes, schools and associations. A big step forward for liveability and vitality in Zuid-Limburg! And partly made possible by Regio Deal Zuid-Limburg.
