Circular economy and society

Workspace Circular Geleen

This workspace encourages residents, entrepreneurs, pupils and students to think about a circular (recycling) economy. To experiment and learn. And to embrace. The workspace is a platform for sharing machines and materials. It also shows the positive and sustainable impact of lending, (re)renting, reusing and repairing, consuming and alternative energy sources.

Werkplaats circulair Geleen

Organisations such as the Sustainability House, Repair Café and the Chemelot Visitor Centre are located in the workspace. All three of them help to achieve the overall goals. Among other things, they do so from various widely usable rooms with a coffee bar. These are suitable for exhibitions and lectures and can be used as work and meeting rooms.

In the Sustainability House, citizens, businesses, schools, social housing corporations and other organisations are informed, advised and inspired in the field of sustainability. So also in the field of circularity. The circular programme reflects the national programme Nederland Circulair 2050.

The Chemelot visitor centre offers, among other things, bus tours of the Chemelot Industrial Park. During these tours, visitors are informed about the circular transition with Chemelot as an example.

When
By 2024, Workspace Circular Geleen will be operational.
